National Night Out Being Celebrated in Carlsbad

Getting together for a block party is always fun, and when you can combine that with a good cause it will defiantly be a good time. Register you group for your block party on August 7th and be part of National Night Out to celebrate crime prevention efforts. 

On August 7, the City of Carlsbad will again participate in “National Night Out” which encourages neighborhoods to gather for a block parties or potlucks in celebration of crime prevention efforts. 

National Night Out is designed to enhance prevention awareness, generate support for prevention programs, highlight neighborhood collaboration and spirit, and strengthen community partnerships. National Night Out seeks to send a message that Carlsbad is organized and actively working together.

The City of Carlsbad Police and Fire Departments are inviting Carlsbad community members to participate in National Night out by planning an outside neighborhood gathering like a block party, volleyball game, or potluck on August 7 between the hours of 5:30 and 9 p.m. 

Register your event with the police department by emailing jodee.sasway@carlsbadca.gov and members of the police and fire departments will visit your gathering.

The 29th annual National Night Out will involve more than 15,000 communities and 37 million people from all 50 states.  

“National Night Out is an opportunity for community members to get together with emergency services and celebrate their prevention efforts,” said Police Public Information Officer Jodee Sasway. “We are celebrating a joint pledge toward a safe and secure community.”
