The Best Avocado Salsa Ever! (Vegan Recipe)

If you're interested in trying something new and delicious, then check out this recipe for 'The Best Avocado Salsa Ever! Check it out below, and then let us know if you think it lives up to its name. If you've got an even better recipe, tell us! In the mean time, enjoy this scrumptious salsa.

Ingredients
  • 3 ripe avocados
  • 1 box of organic cherry tomatoes
  • 1/2 red onion
  • A handful of cilantro
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 2 Organic Limes
  • essential lime oil (I like doTERRA brand)
  • essential cilantro oil
I like to use lime essential oil in the salsa for added richness. Depending upon the strength of the lime taste, add 3 drops of lime essential oil and 2 drops of cilantro essential oil, mix, then taste.
I'm a huge lime lover so I add add both fresh limes (for the juice) and essential oil (for the power and essence of the entire plant).
Preparation
Cut the avocado into big chunks and place into a bowl. Cut cherry tomatoes in half. Dice red onion into small pieces, and dice up cilantro. Add essential oil and the pinch of salt and lightly mix.
You want the salsa to be chunky and fresh, not mushed together.
If you'd like to make your own homemade chips, buy whole, corn tortillas and cut them into four quarters. Submerge the individual pieces into hot oil canola oil and fry until crispy. You want the tortillas to be crispy so that you can eat them like chips!
Enjoy as a great snack or party appetizer, and keep me posted! I’d love to hear how it turned out for you.

Where To Dispose of One Time Use and Rechargeable Batteries

When you switch out the old dead batteries in your remote, clock, or other devices for new ones, what do you do with the old ones? If you’re throwing them in the trash, you may be violating California’s Universal Waste Rule, but more importantly, you’re harming the planet! Find out the easy, safe, and green way to toss out those old batteries below.

That's about three years of batteries I've used and accumulated over the years. Most of our daily-use devices are powered by rechargeable batteries, but clocks, LED closet lighting, and a few other units are powered by good ole copper tops. They eventually are retired and stored in a glass jar; I finally hit the top, so it's now time to properly dispose of these acid filled mini-hazardous waste containers properly instead of the trash can....
If you're disposing rechargeable batteries, good news, you can just walk into a Best Buy and drop them off into their tech recycling bins usually in the front entrance. But if you've a collection of single use dry cell batteries, you'll want to abide by your specific state laws (here in California, under the California Universal Waste Rule, household batteries are considered hazardous waste and cannot be put into the trash because of their mercury, lead, cadmium, and nickel content).
So where to go with your big bag of batteries? Here in Los Angeles, you might be surprised to find some County Public Library will take and properly dispose of batteries. There are also mobile Household Hazardous Waste Events alongside a permanent center operated by the City of Los Angeles.
Better yet, here are some retail stores and businesses which can take your batteries the next time you're shopping...or even getting your oil changed:

Feng Shui for Your Tiny Apartment

Feng Shui, literally translating as ‘wind-water’, is the practice of orienting a building in an auspicious manner. You don’t need to live in a palace for it to be effective either! Your very own home might just feel a little more in balance once you check out the tips below.

Establish the command position

In feng shui, the command position, or power spot, is the point of the room where you feel safest and most in command. In this case, it is often the spot located directly opposite the door. You can easily see the entryway, thus giving you the best control (both visually and physically) of your space. If you’re living in a studio apartment, this will mean that you’ll have to decorate and rearrange furniture around your bed. Try using room dividers to make your space feel more like a larger apartment.

Declutter your life

This is an important standard not just in feng shui but in all aspects of life. Physical clutter translates into emotional turmoil and can leave you feeling unnecessarily stressed. As always, you can use self-storage to take care of any excess furniture you can’t part with quite yet. If you find yourself pressed for space but unwilling to invest in self-storage, storing vertically can be a lifesaver and will offer some unique and practical wall decorations.

Incorporate mirrors

The No. 1 problem with small spaces is that they’re too small for your big world. Mirrors are the key to bypassing this conundrum. Not only will they give your apartment the impression of being more spacious than it actually is, but they’ll easily place you in the command position, as they enable you to see what’s going on behind you at all times.

Additionally, keep visible knickknacks as decorations to a minimum. If you do have too many decorative objects, try to organize them together as a group. Overall, your objects and furniture should accompany and complement one another, not compete for attention.

Keep your entryway clear

In feng shui, the three most important spaces are the kitchen, the entryway and the bedroom. If you live in a tiny apartment or studio, then most likely these are your only spaces. The important thing is to make sure that your entryway is clear. Avoid cluttering your pathways as well so that good energy can flow throughout your apartment easily.

Personalize to make yourself feel ‘at home’

It can be difficult to feel “at home” and truly personalize your apartment if you know that you’ll only be staying there for a short amount of time. Even so, good feng shui means truly feeling comfortable and in tune with your living space. Surround yourself with artwork or decorations that are inspirational to you to encourage good energy. If you’re thinking about painting the walls, make sure you unify the color and theme with the room at large, accommodating the existing color of your furniture or making changes accordingly to fit your new color template.
